Updating Your Goal

CEO-S Software asks everyone to answer two questions about their goal each Friday:

How likely are you to achieve this goal?

How do you feel about the quality of work done so far?

Likelihood is strictly focused on the future: Will you achieve the goal on time? Quality is focused on the qualitative insight you have, which goes beyond whether or not you'll achieve the goal. For example, you may be accomplishing high-quality work toward a goal but not feel confident you will reach the end measurement by quarter-end (High Quality, Low Likelihood). Conversely, you may feel confident in the Likelihood of achievement but rate the Quality lower because you had to rush to get it done on time. Together, these two ratings help your manager and the organization get a fuller picture about where your goals stand.

Updating from the Dashboard

The answers to these two questions are captured via the goal update, which can be accessed from the Dashboard Reminders each Friday.

The Update form will open and you can then answer the two questions for the selected week. You may also add comments related to your entries for the week; if Likelihood or Quality is downgraded in a week, it's important to comment on why. This will give others important context as to what's happening with your goal.

If you are a Manager in CEO-S Software (or if you own a goal that has contributing goals), you can view contributing goals before you update your goal by expanding the "Child goals" caret.

This will give you the latest context before you make your own Likelihood and Quality rating of your goal.

You can also update a goal from the Goals page by opening the goal and selecting the "Update" button.

Lastly, the update form can also be accessed from the Predictions Matrix.
