Get Started with Talent

When you first get started with CEO-S Software, the Talent section won't be enabled—you'll wait until you complete your first quarter of goals so that everyone has goal results to evaluate.


Once Talent starts, every manager will be able to create appraisals for their employees.


Employees will only see the Talent page after an appraisal has been shared with them.

Employees who are added to the system after quarter-end won't be eligible for appraisals until the next quarter.

If at any time you decide you'd rather not use Talent, please contact help@ceosoftware.co so we can turn it off for you.


There are three main areas that make up Talent: the Talent Dashboard, the Talent Matrix, and My Appraisals.


The Talent Dashboard

This dashboard is available to the CEO, Managers, and HR Admins. The dashboard allows you to monitor how many appraisals are completed each quarter for your team.



  1. "My Direct Reports" displays your performance as a manager in completing appraisals for your reports.
  2. "My Organization" reveals appraisal progress across your chain of command (all managers and employees who report up to you).
  3. "Direct Report Appraisal Status" indicates the individual workflow status for each of your direct reports.
  4. "Team Appraisal Status" reflects the appraisal progress of a manager's team. If your direct report is an individual contributor, "N/A" will be displayed.
  5. "Actions" details the possible actions available for each of your direct reports related to their appraisals.

The Talent Matrix

The Talent Matrix is available to the CEO, Managers, and HR Admins. The Talent Matrix allows you to see the talent makeup of your team and your chain of command:



  1. "Talent Matrix - My Team View" uses a 9-box matrix to plot the performance and potential of the employees within your team.

    Filters can be used to change the view on the screen. You can filter by:

    1. Appraisal Status
    2. Direct Reports or Organization
    3. Quarter
  2. Drill-downs into each of the Performance and Potential combinations occur by selecting the appropriate circle.

My Appraisals

The "My Appraisals" tab is available for Managers and Individual Contributors to view their own appraisals.



Appraisals can also be accessed by viewing the employee's profile page. Only those with permissions to see the appraisals (the individual, their manager, and their manager's manager) will see the "Appraisal" tab.
